Step back in time aboard the Friendship Sloop Anna R.  A hundred years ago, the Maine coast was teeming with boats much like the Anna R. These beautiful and seaworthy fishing vessels were then known simply as sloop boats. They later became known as Friendship Sloops because so many of them were built in the little fishing town of Friendship, on Muscongus Bay.

I’d like to invite you aboard my Friendship Sloop, the Anna R. Learn about lobster fishing under working sail, as it was done a century ago. You can take the wheel and help set the sails if you like, or you can just sit back and enjoy the view.

The Anna R sails around Rockland Harbor and West Penobscot Bay from June to October.  We’ll cruise around Rockland’s big, beautiful working harbor; where we’ll see Historic Schooners, Fishing Boats, Lighthouses and wildlife such as porpoises, osprey and seals. We guarantee that your party will have the Anna R all to yourselves, making this a truly unique opportunity to see Maine’s beautiful coast under sail.

We sail from the Sail Power & Steam Museum at Sharp’s Point South on private booking basis.
